~ Aerodynamic Rotor with 1:1 ratio Motor Embedded in the Hub ~

Objective:

Rotor and drive, for manned rotorcraft and UAVs; that are, easy to fly, safe to fly, economical to produce, and require minimal maintenance.

Overview of Principal Assembly:

An aerodynamic rotor, which incorporates an electric motor, torque-pitch-rpm thrust control and weight-shift cyclic control.

There is no mechanical reduction between the motor and its aerodynamic rotor. The ratio between them is 1:1.

A torque-pitch coupling to provide faster responses to requested changes in thrust.

The weight shifting may be assisted by aerodynamic blade twisting. (or may not)

Applicable to the following twin-rotor configurations:

Bilateral configurations: Intermeshing, Interleaving, and Side-by-Side.
Coaxial configuration: The coaxial may have one centrally located electric motor driving both rotors, should the efficiency of a single motor plus minimal frame offset the reduced aerodynamic efficiency of the coaxial configuration.
